You need help or information ? Our specialized counselors will listen with the utmost respect and propose solutions to help you deal with your challenges. This service is free.

Individual or family counselling  

This service is offered to individuals with the disease as well as home caregivers. Our trained and qualified specialized counselors will answer your questions and offer support and solutions to help you deal with difficulties and challenges brought upon by Alzheimer’s disease or a related illness.

Meetings can be held in our offices or in the comfort of your own home. This service is free.

Telephone follow-up

Once an initial contact has been established, one of our specialized counselors will call you from time to time to make sure you have the information and support you need. This service is free.

Support groups for home caregivers

For caregivers of participants in our support groups for individuals with AD, monthly meetings hosted by one of our specialized counselors where you can receive information on the disease and have an opportunity to talk with others living a similar situation.

Training program

Our training program is designed for professionals who work alongside people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or a related illness.

Workshops for home caregivers 

This 8 weeks session offers information on Alzheimer’s disease, its consequences and provides tools and suggestions to help home caregivers deal with challenges and difficulties. Topics discussed include: Alzheimer’s disease; Activities of daily living; Communication; Taking care of both of you to prevent exhaustion; Safety and Environment; Long term care.

Workshops are held on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, for 8 consecutive weeks. Cost per session: 50$ including participant’s handbook.

Registration is mandatory.

Respite programs

Integration to respite program

This service, specifically designed for people with AD under the age of 65, enables a gradual integration to our Activity and Respite Centre. Fee per day: 18 $ including hot lunch and snacks.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Registration is mandatory (free).

The ideal transportation for the participant is the one supplied by the caregiver. 

It is possible to obtain adapted transportation provided by the Laval Transport Society.  The caregiver’s presence is required in order to facilitate the travel.  You just have to place a request.  This service is free for all persons aged 65 years and over.     

At home stimulation and respite service

For individuals with AD still living at home in their family environment. Our specifically trained caregivers accompany the person in activities of daily living while providing the home caregiver to have respite.  Fee: 3 $ per hour for a maximum per day of 15 $.

Registration is mandatory (free).

Drop in respite service

This service allows respite for home caregivers in emergency or last minute situations or to attend one of our activities.  Fee: 3$ per hour for a maximum of 15$ per day+ 3$ per meal when provided.

Weekday schedule: between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm
Week-end schedule: from 8:00 am and 10:00 pm

Registration (free) is mandatory and must be completed prior to using the service.

Temporary accomodation and respite service

At our Francesco Bellini residence, we welcome individuals with AD in two private bedrooms in order to provide respite for a few days to a few weeks for their home caregivers.

Fee: 15$ per day.

Registration (free) is mandatory.
